Many thanks to Doris Comer, Marsha Six and Billie Quigley for organizing the Easter delivery and to all who delivered the many lilies!  Hope we can use the same system for Christmas too and have someone (or 2 or 3) to step up and take the lead.

Nominations Committee – We need  volunteers from the following circles for the nominating committee: Dana Tyson, Elizabeth Overby, Miriam Gruber, Ardelle Lett and Barb Liddick.  The committee will meet in May/June and be ready to submit  nominees at the August 14 Board Meeting.  Let  June and Donna Shafer know by the beginning of April.  Please consider appointing a person if there is no volunteer.  Thanks.  Our election of officers will be at the September meeting.  Unit Officer Training Day is Sat. Nov. 22.

Mar.  8  We “hosted” the Peninsula District UMW Annual Prayer Breakfast in our Celebration Center.  Many, many thanks to Linda  Carrithers  and all the ladies who made bookmark favors and to Kim Mungin for her super- duper breakfast.  The table decorations were creative and lovely.  Troop 6 turned out to do a fabulous job setting up and serving the breakfast.  We are proud of you!  Hostesses for the breakfast were Cathy Haskell, Mary Ann Hoye, Beth Murray, Kay Fries, and Linda McLawhorn.  Thanks.J

General Meeting:  Jim Rogers  presented a PowerPoint presentation from his recent trip to Israel and Jordan.  He showed distances between places very well.  Thanks.

General Meeting Business:

June noted that women (young and not so young) can request funds for attending events like the Spiritual Life Retreat and the School of Christian Missions.  WMUMW will give scholarships toward the cost of these events. Put your requests in the UMW box. The board meets on April 10 and May 8.

Beth will be setting up a meeting to work out details.  The idea is to have a festive dessert time with friends (round tables with table cloths) and watch this terrific program.  We’re aiming to have 100-200 women, by selling tickets and advertising.  Save the date and invite a friend or two.

June 6 Friday, the group voted to put on the Christian Ed’n Appreciation Dinner in Fellowship Hall.  Please put a note in the UMW box in the office telling who will set up/serve and serve/clean up for the dinner.  We will need 2-4 persons per circle (larger circles 3-4 please).  Thanks.
